Greeting cards... huhu *_*

Greeting cards has been in our culture since long ago. Although the origin is unknown, perhaps it was derived from personal letters and postcards. Therefore, by culture, I am talking internationally...

I was always the one who received greeting cards from my fellow friends and acquaintances. As a matter of fact, I would even keep the pretty and cute ones like for years; but not anymore... For a giver, I am consider a 0-0. Haha...

Anyhow, on the day I was to take a train back to my hometown, I bought some greeting cards, which prove to be useless or rather, sit on my desk for next year's arrival. The reason? Why, I forgot them totally and thus didn't even touched or mailed them. Maybe it's because I was never a giver of greeting cards. LOL...

Oh well, my friends, guess you all have to wait until next year then... hehe ^^

The endless world of dificulties...

Ahhhhh, the endless world of difficulties...
from the day we were born to this world
we learn to crawl, walk and talk
after endless of falling down and tripping and bumping our heads...

Ahhhh, the endless world of difficulties...
when we attend our primary, secondary and university
we strive for excellency and competency
after endless of trying and failing and scratching our heads till it bleed

Ahhhh, the endless world of difficulties...
for I do not know the road beyond my graduation
is it work, play or travel around the world?
however, one thing is certain -
there will still be a string of difficulties that we are to pull through all of them...

** But, for now, Illustrator cs3 is one of my road of difficulty. Hopefully I can manage it as soon as possible to complete the whole look of my book... ^^

Life is uncertain!!!! So appreciate it!!!!

I'm back in Penang yesterday's wee morning and went to my "parents'" house that night as well. It was altogether a perfect night: we ate some real "atap chi", had stingray "bakar" as dinner and took us home some goodies from our "parents".

Are you wondering who's these "parents' I'm referring to? Well, joined a program called "Xia Xiang" two years ago and all of us are "adopted" by these kind uncles and aunties as their "children".

During the conversation with auntie, we had a shock of our life. It seems that Edwin's "father" had passed away somewhere in November. If I was to recall, he was a nice, healthy and kindly person. But just because of an appendix removal cost him his life as that was the time the cancer cells attacked him in the back. Furthermore, he suffered a lot and wet on his way in three months time. That's really really fast!!!!

So dear friends, please appreciate your life and live it the best for your own sake!!!!

Fire!!!!

Sounds terrible and dangerous, huh? Well, it certainly is... (phew)

I went to Yen Cheng's house on last Friday till Sunday. Nothing bad happened on Friday as we were out the entire day and only returned at night, so it's alright. Then came Saturday... This is when the title happened...

Yen Cheng said we can only dine one meal outside, which is reasonable for me (save money also), so I went along with her plan and chose to dine outside for dinner. Thus, we had to cook ourselves lunch, right? So we thought of making macaroni with tomato puree (Kimball: not bad, not bad at all). So macaroni is set (boiled and dried), so here comes the frying part (we are making the dry version).

Well, as Jen Hann's non-stickable pan looks erm... erm... not that healthy? (with the black little thing coming out), so we, okay, I went on to the other wok and didn't know of one fact that made the following incident happened: I didn't know the wok was thin!!!!

So have you guessed what happened? Precisely that... After the macaroni is boiled with a big fire, I switched it just instantly with the wok, with the big fire. I poured in the oil and the wok started to smoke. Lots of smoke was coming out of the wok. Then whoosh!!!! The oil caught fire!!!!! It was like when those Chinese chef put some wine and then kaboom!!!! came the flame... That was exactly what happened.

I quickly switched off the switch and waited for the oil and fire to cease.
Formula: oil (-) = fire (-)

So eventually it died and was I so glad... (phew). Yen Cheng almost made a huge mistake by wanting to pour water in it, but didn't.
Formula: water (-) = fire (-) as oil (+ floating on water)

I felt so guilty and kept apologizing for like a million time (okay, i know, that's exaggerating, but for dramatic effect... You know)

Painful yet memorable experience...

Just now I went for Ponggal making contest with Mama Khe Li. I must stress something: YES!!!! I SURVIVED!!!!

The reason?

1)Well, first of all, I'm not a girl scout ever since I was in high school. Even though I was one in primary school, they didn't really taught us how to cook with sticks and bricks.

2)I almost choked on the thick smoke that coming out from the fire. My eyes were practically watering whilst my throat burns...

3)The flickering fire kept me busy all throughout the process. I panicked when I discovered that the fire had gone out and have to fan vigorously on the flickering bit so that it can burst into flames.

4)We didn't read the instructions clearly. Thus, we put in the rice even before the milk even spilt out from the urn (it should be so)

Therefore, YES!!!!! I SURVIVED!!!! Truly a painful yet memorable experience.... ^^
