When it comes to money, people are either lamenting on not having more of them or the opposite. As an objective kind of a person (well, I try to be as much of that), there are pros and cons of being rich or poor.
A person who is insufficient in the sense of money might be a very cherry person, care-free and have a small and yet warm family whereas a rich guy might always have to have this dreadful feeling that his money might one day be stolen or cheated by some corporate or something, though he has the will to spend like money were just water, which can be obtained easily.
Today, I watched this Spanish film entitled, "La Comunidad", which means the community. And then there is the focus - when it comes to money. In a scene, they were showing this animal documentary (some sort of National Geographic) which shown a group of vultures gathering to have their share of bite of the succulent flesh of the dead. Well, that also happens when a person in that community is suddenly filthy rich. Maybe not quite, but when it comes to close-knit kind of community, I guess everything is possible, huh?
Anyhow, they were too me, kind of brainless (it is a bit harsh, but you will understand later why I said so). If it were me, I do not think I will stay in a dirty and old building for several years (as in years years kind of years) just in order to get a little portion of say 300 million pesetas. It is just not worth it, right? And this poor guy, who had the money, became paranoid and scared that the neighbours will just rob him out in the daylight (well, I would be scared also as they are very scary) and what do you expect a paranoia do? Yes, you had probably guessed it right. He cooped himself in the room and so died in the room as well.
So, when our main character came into the picture, she found the money and wanted to take it whole. That was when the trouble comes. I suppose we cannot blame them for their rash decision and greed as they had dreams built years ago and this is the last chance for them, which I think is not realistic enough. Admittedly, there are people who would dream of striking the lottery one day and Ka-boom!!!! became a millionaire in a day, but does that happened every single day? Get real!!!
And this woman is a bimbo too (maybe not, but for prolonging the dramatic effects; if not, there will be no climax and all). She managed to take the money out in a garbage form (here, the scene is a bit scary as a neighbour offered to accompany her. Afterwards, when they were done, the woman, Julia, asked her to go up first, in which the woman was scrutinizing her all the way up the elevator)out of the building. Instead, she brought the money again into the building just to dry them (the money were found in a wet place as the crime scene is full of water leaking out). That is so weird. In reality, I think I would just take the money and get away in a cab and that would be sayonara forever, but no... it must be in this manner.
In the end, nobody gets the money and nobody survived except Julia, our main actress (that is, barely alive as well). So where is the point of gaining money in a distorted? way?
Moral of this film:
1) be realistic: go find your own money
2) if you really won a lottery, ask the bank's in-charge not to bring two big bags
to your house
3) be careful of your neighbours? (Hmmmm... perhaps not really. Haha)
4) be happy and content with yourself (whether living in a small cottage with
just little bread and all. At least you are not fighting for your live just for
some money)
