Freaky...

Yesterday I watched a movie (in a DVD form) called "Hide and Seek". At first I thought it was a horor movie, which turned out to be not. It was more of a thriller. Just in case you do not have the slightest idea of what the story is about, below is a synopsis of it:

There is this guy who is a psycologist who has a beautiful wife and a cute daughter. The wife seemed to have some kind of mental problem which could not be solved and she committed suicide one night. Other than that, the story focus on the game of hide and seek, where the mother would play with the child every night. After that, you can see more of it when the child played with this imaginary friend of hers, called Charlie.

There are abundant of events whereby involves murders of various people, first mildly that include dolls and later on, real life people- a woman and a cop. The father in the movie was very protective of his daughter, considering she was in a shock (she saw her mother's death), as well as being possessive. He would not allowed his daughter near any stranger, even when it meant the sheriff.

When the story evolved, the reason to all this was revealed. The wife of that psycologist was having an affair with another guy, in which the husband saw them playing hide and seek. One night, he could not stand it anymore and killed his wife in the bath tub. Later on, whenever he saw his daughter near a man, he would remembered the cheat that happened on him.

Eventually, we would know that he is sick. He was actually Charlie that was playing with his daughter after all this while. In fact, he had a disease which is common in the society of psychologist- split personality.

In the end, his daughter was rescued by a friend of the father who was close to the child as well. But, the thing did not ended. In the last scene, when the father's friend wanted to take the child to school, there was a drawing in which drew the girl and the friend. Now here is the spooky part: The little girl has two heads in the same body, just like what had happened to the dad. Spooky, right?

Now so it happened that Leslie Cheung was in the same position as well. He acted in this eerie series which involves him as a psychologist, in which some say that he could not bear the mental torment which leads him to a depression and suicide.

It is normal that doctor cannot help themselves by treating on their own. They need another doctor to diagnose on him. By and by, it is the same for all profession. But, it is most scary when the professional could not handle the field of his own and eventually bit to dead by his own game. Sad and spooky...
