I knew better...

I read a few article just now and learnt a cruel fact in this reality. People who are poor, and especially if they are of a minority race often face invisibility or discrimination....

Only when people such as los zapatistas came and voiced out on their behalf do they have a bigger chance at being seen and helped. No wonder they are so loved by the indigenous people. They were so protected by these residents that when the soldiers wanted to capture the zapatistas, the residents would draw out their basic weapons - sticks and sling shots and drove their enemies out of the village. Incredible, huh? Indeed it is...

I felt touched after reading such articles. Perhaps they are considered a threat in the eyes of the government, but they did a noble job and I do hope that their fight will continue until there are less proverty and discrimination going on...
